Akropolis shopping centers welcomes visitors with more than 30 new and renovated shops
Quarantine had largely suspended the operation of shopping centers, but even under such circumstances, changes have taken place in the Akropolis shopping centers of Vilnius, Klaipėda and Šiauliai. As of today (19 April), when the shops located in shopping centers are reopening, Akropolis shopping centers are welcoming customers with a fresh look – a total of 35 newly established and renovated shops.
“Quarantine is a challenge for both residents and businesses: the activities of most of the shops located in shopping centers have been suspended since mid-December. Apart from the entertainment and catering sector, we are one of the last to be allowed to resume our operations. In Akropolis, Vilnius, Klaipėda and Šiauliai, this quarantine period was used for active renewal, so that today, when we are allowed to open the doors of the shops in our shopping centers, returning customers would be satisfied with both their favourite and the new brands”, says Dominykas Mertinas, Head of the Communication Department of Akropolis Group.
From 19 April, shops in the three Akropolis shopping centers will open at 10 a.m. on weekdays, but they will close at different times. The shops in Vilnius Akropolis will be open until 10 p.m., Maxima will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Eurovaistinė and Ermitažas from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In Klaipėda and Šiauliai, the Akropolis centers shops will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Maxima and Eurovaistinė from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Food, veterinary, optical, orthopaedic shops, pharmacies and shops with separate entrances from the outside will be as well open on weekends. Relevant information about shops and service locations and their working hours can be found at: www.akropolis.lt.
The largest Nike shop in Lithuania
Out of the 35 new or renewed shops 15 are located in Vilnius Akropolis, 10 in Klaipėda Akropolis and 10in Šiauliai Akropolis.
One of these shops is the Nike sports and leisure goods shop in Vilnius, which has been renewed and increased in size by one-third, it was expanded from 323 m2 to 430 m2. According to Milda Monstavičiūtė, Nike’s representative in Lithuania, two additional categories have appeared in the larger shop: the Jordan brand and children's products have supplemented the usual range of running, training and leisure goods.
After the renovation, this Nike shop has become the largest in Lithuania. It also has a new design, abandoning the darker colour combination and switching to lighter tones. “The previous shop was established in 2014, so the design for the new one was created according to the latest concept of the Nike brand and the latest global trends”, says Milda Monstavičiūtė.
The shop will also surprise visitors with innovations. Its shopfront is equipped with an extremely large transparent LED screen, the only one of its kind in the Vilnius Akropolis, and the Nike shops in neither Riga nor Tallinn don’t have such a screen yet. This screen shows both the image it displays and the inside of the shop behind it.
New brands opened their shops
New brands also opened their shops in the Vilnius Akropolis. Tezenis, which sells Italian underwear and clothing, is opening its first shop in Lithuania. Among the renewed shops are some brands already familiar to customers: L’Occitane, which offers beauty products from Provence; Manilla, Lithuanian cosmetics shop; and the Hummel sporting goods shop. The Geox and Skechers shoe shops have been renovated and located in more spacious premises. The Imdeco interior shop will open its doors in the near future; and the currently renovated Apranga shop is expected to welcome customers on 26 April. Already operating are a new branch of Citadele Bank, the Optometrijos centras optics shop and the Candy Pop shop, which offers sweets and confectionery.
The Apranga Group, which is a leader in clothing retail in the Baltic States, is continuing modernisation of its shops in Klaipėda’s Akropolis. After renovating the Stradivarius and Mango shops last year and introducing the new Orsay brand, earlier this year the group substantially renovated the Apranga shop, which offers a wide range of family clothes, and the Aprangos galerija shop, which offers a large selection of brands for stylish young people. These shops are already welcoming customers.
Visitors to Klaipėda’s Akropolis are also greeted by new brands: the Regatta tourism and leisure shop, and the Imdeco interior shop will open their doors in the near future. Telecommunications service provider Tele2 , the board games and leisure goods shop Hobby Shop, the clothing shop Impress Brand Clothing, and the IQOS tobacco shop has opened its doors in the the new premises. Fielmann Optics will open in new premises in the nearest future.
This year the winds of change have also reached the Šiauliai Akropolis. New shops welcoming customers here include the footwear shops Step Top, Scalini and Skechers; and the Fame and #GG clothing shops. The Deichmann shoe shop and the 4F sports and leisure goods shop have been renovated and expanded. The Pegasas bookshop has been renovated too.
In total, over 650 shops, services and entertainment providers are located in the Akropolis shopping centers of Vilnius, Klaipėda and Šiauliai. You can find out more here: www.akropolis.lt.
